Non-integrated headsets are used only for threadless forks.
They are also used only for non-integrated boards.Do not use for threaded forks. The headset, board, and fork can be destroyed!
The headset consists of: industrial bearings, cups, a ring (headset spacer), and a fork ring.
You must use some compr. system for tightening the headset.
It is not used much today.
Advantages: thanks to industrial bearings, the rotation is smooth.
Disadvantages: cups can wear out, more expensive than a threaded headset
Assembly: Carefully hammer the cups without bearings into the board, they must be hammered in straight. Place the bearings into the bowls, with the tapered part facing the bowl. We place a ring on the fork (flatter bottom, included in the package with some forks), and thread the fork through the board. Place the second ring on the fork (it should fit into the bearing) and the cover.
