Freestyle scooter decks are mainly divided into integrated and non-integrated. This tells us which type of headset and fork should be used. On non-integrated decks you can use a headset with cups. You can also use a threaded headset. On integrated decks you can only use an industrial headset without cups. The advantage of an integrated deck is that the cups are machined and the bearing is placed directly into the deck. It is not possible to use a headset with ball bearings or a threaded fork headset. Another factor when choosing is whether the neck of the deck is made from one piece or several pieces. The more pieces there are, the more welds there are and therefore a higher risk of cracking. One-piece decks are much stronger.
