How to choose a new freestyle scooter deck

  • Width 5”–5.5” – ideal for park and technical tricks
  • Width 5.5”–6.3” – universal park/street combination
  • Width 6.5” and more – maximum stability for street and grinds
  • Deck length – longer = better control during manuals, more foot space, shorter = agility
  • Wheel compatibility – check the maximum supported diameter

The right combination of parameters affects landing stability, confidence during grinds and control during technical tricks.

Types of dropouts (deck ends)

Boxed dropouts
  • flat rear end
  • larger surface for grinding
  • higher stability for street riding
Peg-cut dropouts
  • cut-out rear end
  • lower weight
