Components for Freestyle Scooters

A freestyle scooter takes a lot of beating during tricks – that's why it's worth choosing parts, which fit the dimensions, compatibility and especially driving style. Below are the most important categories of parts.

Decks
Various lengths/widths, street and park geometry, different dropouts.
Handlebars
Height, width, material – essential for durability and comfort.
Forks
Compatibility with IHC/HIC/SCS + choice according to wheels.
Wheels
Size, hardness, core – speed, grip, and durability.
Clamps
Strength and compatibility with handlebars are important.
Headsets
Smooth operation is ensured by quality bearings.
Grips

❌ Most common mistake: buying a part without checking compression / dimensions. First, filter for compatibility and then address the color.

Light Parts: For Whom and When

Light components are great mainly for the park and faster rotations. But a simple rule applies: lighter does not automatically mean better. Sometimes a more robust part lasts longer and adds stability.

✅ When lightweight parts make sense: when you want faster spins, a more playful feel, and you mostly ride park/technique.
❌ When it can be a problem: when you ride hard street and want maximum durability or have hard impacts – in those cases, a sturdier setup is often worth it.
