Let's take a look at the affordable scooter from Nils Extreme.
We have always wondered what makes these scooters so cheap when the components according to the specifications are top-notch?So let's take a look at it!
The Nils HS115 freestyle scooter has very good specifications. SCS, 110mm wheels with aluminum core, aluminum, threadless fork. These parameters are usually found in more expensive scooters, which start from 4000 CZK.
So why such a price? That is the question. The entire scooter is assembled from "old" components. E.g. Chilli used forks and SCS 8 years ago. So the design and form are devised. We also see these forks and SCS with other low budget brands. The cost of production is therefore significantly cheaper. These components are usually made from inferior materials. The quality of the weld, etc., also plays a role. The scooter deck is heavier, the deck profile is old, but we think it will last. It has a massive reinforcement.
What would I probably criticize? Probably grips, weight, welds on the handlebars. The grips are slip-on, and to prevent them from rotating, you need to tighten them with an Allen key. They are also quite hard. I would probably choose different grips. The overall weight of the scooter is too much. I think it's due to the thick profile of the board. I probably won't comment on the weld on the handlebars... On the other hand, what can you expect from a scooter for 2700 CZK? :)
Verdict? Is it worth buying? Nooo for beginners who are buying their first scooter and don't want to spend a lot. It's a great choice! A relatively great scooter to start with.
