Unboxing: Slamm Strobe V3 freestyle scooter

3. October 2020

Beautiful day to everyone!

We have another unboxing for you, this time we will take a look at the freestyle scooter Slamm Strobe V3.

For a detailed description of the scooter, check out the video:

The scooter Slamm Strobe V3 is packed securely, so it's definitely great for us. Right out of the box, you can notice that 2 grip tapes are included with the scooter, from which you can choose and apply. One griptape is transparent and the other is black, both have a great design that we like. The scooter comes with of course a complete manual.

The handlebars are classic, steel with an outer diameter of 32 mm and an inner diameter of 28 mm. The handlebars will definitely catch your attention with their subtle design, as demonstrated by the black SLAMM sticker, for example. The grips are standard with nice plastic end caps. There is a lightweight socket and what's definitely great is that with this design, the threads inside the socket cannot be stripped when tightening. You can pull out the roller inside the sleeve and replace it again, which is a huge plus for us. The clamp also has a SHIM, which is great if you want, for example, aluminum handlebars, as you won't have to buy a new clamp. What we would criticize about these handlebars is that the notch is larger than the clamp itself, so it is visible on the handlebars. Handlebar dimensions are height 622 mm x width 585 mm

The board definitely catches the eye at first glance with its stylish design.

The wheels are 110 mm in size, with an aluminum core and a hardness of 88, ABEC 9 bearings. The board is concave. The neck of the board is welded, two-piece, with an aluminum and two-piece fork. The fork is for the IHC compression system, for integrated headsets, and there are industrial bearings. The downside is that the pad doesn't have a sufficiently large rubber band, so if you don't tighten or secure the handlebars properly, the components won't fit together well and the pad will move. The length of the board is 520 mm, the width of the board is 122 mm, and the footspace is 355 mm, which is pretty great.

The weight of the scooter is 3,900 g and the total height of the scooter is 865 mm.

Main advantages:

  • great lightweight clamp with steel rollers, which have a thread (if you strip the thread, you just need to buy this roller)
  • SHIM in the clamp
  • super wide deck (ideal for the skatepark)

Rating: We definitely really like the scooter overall for its design, a great advantage is the 2 grip tapes that you get with the scooter, and we haven't encountered anything similar for a long time. Such a drawback is the aforementioned pad, so definitely be careful about that and make sure to tighten the handlebars properly. On the contrary, the design of the socket is definitely a plus. The scooter is at a great price, they nailed the clamp design, but the notch could be hidden in our opinion. The scooter deck is 122 mm wide and 520 mm long, which is the best combination for riders who ride in the skatepark.
