Freestyle scooters are a great sport full of adrenaline, movement, but also danger. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced rider, the right helmet and pads are essential gear that can save you from more than one hospital visit, or even your life. In this article, we will advise you on how to choose a helmet for a freestyle scooter so that it fits perfectly, is comfortable, and meets all safety standards. We strongly do not recommend wearing helmets designed for cycling in the skatepark.
When riding a freestyle scooter, you are exposed to the risk of falls and impacts. A helmet protects your head not only during failed tricks at the skatepark but also during regular rides on the street. Investing in a quality helmet definitely pays off!
Before you start choosing a specific model, it is important to determine the correct size. Use a tailor's tape measure to measure the circumference around the widest part of the head – across the forehead and the back of the head. Compare the result with the manufacturer's size chart, which is available for each product on our website.
Tip: If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller one – the helmet will slightly loosen over time.
The helmet should:
Sit comfortably, without pressure or slipping.
Be positioned horizontally - not too far back (does not protect the forehead), nor too far forward (restricts vision).
It should not move when you move your head.

The chin straps should be:
Designed to be firm, but not to restrict breathing or speaking, and at the same time, they should not go over the chin.
Properly tightened so that the helmet stays on even in a fall, but is not uncomfortable to wear.
Make sure the helmet is certified for extreme sports – for example, CE EN 1078, which guarantees that it meets safety standards for cycling, skateboarding, and scooters.

You can always have the best helmet in the world, but if you don't keep it on your head when heading to the skatepark or the street, it's useless to you. Every fall can have consequences, and it's the helmet that makes the difference between you and a serious injury. Freestyle scootering is about fun, progress, and adrenaline – but never at the expense of health.
In addition to a helmet, we also recommend quality knee pads. They will help you avoid painful injuries from falls and enable you to make better progress in the skatepark.
