About the category Park boards

The board of a freestyle scooter is probably the most important part of any scooter. There are boards for beginners, intermediate and advanced riders. We sell different kinds of boards, different sizes, with concave, without concave, one piece and two piece neck, for integrated headset etc. each board has different characteristics and choosing the right board is crucial for the quality of the ride. 

Freestyle scooter boards are mainly divided into integrated and non-integrated boards. This tells the board what type of headset and fork to use. A head assembly with bowls can be used on non-integrated plates. We can also use a threaded head assembly. Only the industrial header assembly without bowls can be used on integrated plates. The advantage of the integrated plate is that the bowls are recessed and you put the bearing directly into the plate. Cannot be used for ball bearing head assembly and threaded fork head assembly. Another factor to consider when choosing is whether the neck of the board is one piece or multiple pieces. The more pieces, the more welds and the greater the risk of breakage. One-piece boards are much stronger.

What are the differences between a park board and a street board?

Skatepark boards:

  • are mostly shorter and lighter, narrower, easier to handle
  • may crack earlier when used on the street

Street boards:

  • are mostly longer and more robust, wider, heavier
  • they're a lot stronger, but they're harder to trick
  • they usually have a one-piece neck

OUR TIP:

HOW TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE BOARD

  • do not grind on curbs or concrete zit (you can rub the slab against reinforcements or welds, the slab may crack sooner, see. photo)
  • don't ride in puddles
  • wax the board properly from the bottom
  • don't drop from high heights
  • jump jumps into the impact not on platforms
  • land tricks straight and not diagonally / crooked (it takes away the wheels and the board)

WHAT TO REMEMBER WHEN BUYING A BOARD

  • Lightweight boards don't have the longevity of heavy ones, but they are easier to trick.
  • Heavy plates have a longer lifespan, but rotate slower during tricks.
  • You can change griptaps as often as you want/need, just remember to clean the board before each new application.
