Heelys wheeled scooters are a great innovation in the field of self-propelled locomotion. These clever shoes each have an embedded wheel under the heel in the sole with a very high quality micro-composite. At first glance, these shoes will seem like quite classic shoes for sports or leisure. But on the Heelys, you'll literally float at breakneck speed down the pavement.
So if you want to get a good ride around town, all you have to do is take a few brisk steps, pick up your toes and you're literally on your heels. You have to learn how to use these shoes, of course, but after a few tries you'll be a pro. If you want to stop again and walk a bit, simply slow down, take off your toes and use your shoes as usual. If you don't have the opportunity to ride for a longer period of time (e.g. at work or school), you can remove the wheel with one quick movement and replace it with a plug. So then you can wear Heelys shoes like any other.
1. Place the wheel on the hole and push the axle ends into the sidewalls with all your strength.
2. With a fist punch, bring the wheel to the maximum in the side rails.
3. Check the fit of the wheel.
4. After putting the shoe on, step sharply with the heel several times to ensure that the wheel fits properly.
1. Grip the shoe with the sole up and the outside facing away from you.
2. Place your thumbs on the side of the wheel closest to the axle.
3. Press both thumbs on the side of the wheel.
4. Once the axle is partially out, turn the shoe over and push on the other side of the wheel with both thumbs.
- Find something solid to lean on.
- Place one shoe slightly diagonally in front of the other.
- Place the toe of the back shoe against the heel of the front shoe.
- Strengthen your ankles, knees and thighs? And don't stop!
- Lift your toes, keep your balance on the wheels, and pull yourself up against whatever you're leaning on.
- If you lose your balance, put your toes on the ground - you will land.
- Step forward with your foot, which will then be your "back foot".
- Brace your feet and lift the toe of the front shoe.
- Bounce off the back foot, shoes nicely one behind the other (once again: never side by side).
- It's easy, repeat to yourself: step, lift, bounce
(soft and hard brake)
- Slowly place the toe of the back foot until you start to shuffle the sole on the ground - hard brake (larger braking surface, significantly less wear on the sole)
- Lift the toe of the forefoot and scrub the heel of the shoe against the ground - soft brake (excessive use may cause premature wear of the heel of the sole)
- If the shoes stop for any reason, be quick and run!
- Heeling can be dangerous.
- Heel with discretion and clarity.
- Helmet, wrist, elbow and knee pads are recommended.
- Heel only on a smooth and stable surface - Because on an uneven surface (road, concrete driveway, sidewalk) you will scrub the back of your heels too much and wear them out disgustingly soon. Especially if you're just learning to heel.
So don't hesitate any longer, step on it and go!
